About Telangana Elevator Association (TEA)
Telangana Elevator Association (TEA), established in 2017, has been actively working to support and uplift the elevator industry in the region. Since its inception, TEA has collaborated with the government to advocate for improvements and regulations within the industry.
One of TEA’s significant achievements came during the pandemic, when they successfully obtained court orders to allow essential elevator services to operate even during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. This was a critical move that ensured the continuous operation and maintenance of elevators in residential and commercial buildings during a challenging time.
As we move into 2024, TEA is focused on raising public awareness about elevator safety and standards. This includes conducting educational sessions for lift installation companies, with a particular emphasis on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and compliance with the latest IS 17900 standards. By working alongside other associations across the country, TEA aims to strengthen industry practices and safety regulations.
Additionally, with the formation of a new government, TEA is actively engaging with the Energy Ministry to push for the implementation of the Lift Act, which was drafted under the previous administration but is still pending approval. TEA continues to play a key role in mediating between elevator manufacturers, suppliers, installation companies, and technicians to ensure the overall advancement of the elevator industry in Telangana.
